When using GIMP 2.8.3 on Mac OS 10.7.5 and 10.8.5 (Lion and Mountain Lion), some of the GIMP windows/panes (Toolbox, Selection, etc) won't ever go behind the other apps on the screen when switching to another app. On the right side, you’ll see an orange button labeled “Download GIMP 2.10.12 Directly” (GIMP 2.10.12 was the latest version of GIMP at the time of this article).
